Only lunatics try to make a living mining ice in low. I only mine ice when I really need it to make something, and then it is just as a challenge and change of pace because going to Hek or Rens is a lot easier. Only ...Why would you have to switch to grav sites? Only ice is being moved out of the belts - no changes to ore.

And, if you are worried about players ratting NPCs for the new Tags4Sec tags in your ore belts, why worry?

First off, they are going to be fit with a bias towards PVE - which makes them easier prey for the usual PVP suspects prowling around in low-sec (ie. the ones who aren't hunting for tags). If they take time to screw around with you, they are just as likely to get bit in the ass by someone else (see your previous cartoon).

Second, NPC ratting usually takes place in systems with a large number of belts - so, that the ratter can stay in the same system and cycle through the belts, over and over again (during which time, hopefully, you get an officer spawn). The only reason to jump systems when NPC ratting is to grind sec status, the old way. So, if you mine in a system with only a few belts, you are not likely to be bothered - esp. if the system is a pocket system. Low and null ratters don't particularly like pocket systems - too easy to get trapped by a gate camp.

Third, if you stick with a T1-fit Proc, you aren't going to lose much, even if you do get popped. So, stock up on Procs, and T1 (or low meta) fittings. Guaranteed that you'll make more ISK in rocks than you lose in ships.

Fourth, who *exactly* do you think is going to be swarming into low sec, ratting for tags and blowing you up? High sec players? Don't make me laugh. Null sec players? Ratting in null is far more profitable. WH players? Umm, sure, if the WH just happens to be connected to your low sec system. The zillions of other low sec players? lol... when was the last time I saw a low sec player out ratting? Never.

And, fifth, if ratting for Tags4Sec tags *is* actually all that profitable, then you can always do that yourself, instead of mining.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-942059813481083566.post-41724343248833949472013-05-02T19:03:34.874-05:002013-05-02T19:03:34.874-05:00Don't do a lot of ninja mining in wh, easily y...Don't do a lot of ninja mining in wh, easily you are going to get caught with a hictor and get a "fast travel to your medical station" ticket.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-942059813481083566.post-40357030272335619722013-05-02T13:37:05.693-05:002013-05-02T13:37:05.693-05:00Honestly, there's no reason not to do PI. Even in highsec, PI can net a comfortable passive income stream with very little effort, certainly enough to keep someone in T1 frigs (and the occasional T1 cruiser) all day long.Heretic Caldarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03015635188565858672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-942059813481083566.post-87382806178101595462013-05-02T10:40:35.324-05:002013-05-02T10:40:35.324-05:00Mining Missions: Maybe have a look at this
