Final Fantasy XIV Calendar Up To Evercold

Over the weekend Square Enix announced the release date for Final Fantasy XIV's next expansion, Evercold. The date, 23 February 2027, was about three weeks later than expected. Now, I can use the three extra weeks to finish up some things in Dawntrail. Hopefully all the goodies shown in the keynote will dampen the disappointment in those who want new content as soon as possible.

Events in FFXIV tend to come at me fast, so I decided I needed a calendar of what to expect for the next 3-4 months. Not just seasonal events but expected downtimes so I know when to expect not to play. I turned to Gemini to make a nice graphic and a timeline. Here's a pro-tip: don't let the AI do your research without double-checking. Because I did watch the live stream from the Tokoyo Fanfest spotting the omissions wasn't difficult. Evercold Pre-Orders Open

November 4, 2026

Digital pre-orders open across all platforms, granting the standard pre-order bonus leveling earring and Early Access eligibility.

Patch 7.58 & Cross-DC Matching Maintenance (~4–8 Hours)

November 10–11, 2026

All Worlds undergo an extended maintenance window to deploy Patch 7.58, minor job balancing, and backend infrastructure implementing same-region cross-datacenter player matching. Data Center Travel and Mog Station character services suspend 30 minutes prior.

Starlight Celebration 2026

Mid–Late December 2026

The annual winter seasonal event returns to Gridania with holiday event quests, furnishings, and festive glamour items.

Seasonal Asset & System Optimization Downtime (~4–6 Hours)

Routine all-worlds server maintenance to inject event data tables for Heavensturn, perform quarterly database defragmentation, and update backend server architecture.

New Year festivities kick off in Limsa Lominsa with traditional themed kabuto headgear and celebratory housing items.

Patch 7.58 HotFixes & Pre-Expansion Maintenance (~3–5 Hours)

Mid-January 2027

Brief server downtime to roll out final minor hotfixes, lock down housing auto-demolition and transfer queues, and deploy data tables for the upcoming pre-expansion tomestone event.

Moogle Treasure Trove: The Evercold Prelude

Mid-Jan – Feb 19, 2027

The final end-of-expansion tomestone farming event runs across duties and PvP, offering rare mounts, orchestrion rolls, and cosmetics to keep players active ahead of 8.0.

Early February 2027

Old Gridania hosts the annual celebration of romance and camaraderie, featuring cooperative mini-games and seasonal rewards.

8.0 Full All-Worlds Launch Maintenance (24 Hours)

February 18–19, 2027

All Worlds go completely dark for a full 24-hour maintenance window to deploy expansion data, restructure player databases, and upgrade server infrastructure. The Lodestone, Mog Station, and Companion App remain offline or in read-only mode.

Evercold Early Access Goes Live

February 19, 2027

Servers open following the 24-hour maintenance, granting pre-order players immediate access to new expansion zones, MSQ progression, and the new jobs.

Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold Official Launch

February 23, 2027

Official worldwide release of Patch 8.0, welcoming all standard edition players and starting the first expansion patch cycle.
