EVE Frontier Free Trial From 1 April to 13 April 2026.

Last week I did a brief review of who might at least be interested in playing EVE Frontier. The price range I put on purchasing a package was $20. How about free? Free is under $20.

For the first 13 days of April CCP Games is holding a free fly event in Frontier. Cycle 5 began a couple of weeks ago. The thing about this free trial is everyone who participates can see how horribly wrong I was about the game a year ago. Back then I thought the game would turn out to be something like EVE Online. The developers are continuing to work, but when finished about the only thing the same may be the Carbon engine.

One terminology change I've noticed is CCP is now describing Frontier as a "civilization engine". I've always thought of the game as a civilization builder rather than a survival game. I figure some people will want to document the early days of the game if the game reaches commercial release.

Right now I'm busy with the Gallente election event in EVE Online. But I have gotten out of the beginner system and Cycle 5 is really different from Cycle 3 which still had a lot of placeholders from Online. And, perhaps more to the point, I didn't have to create a crypto-wallet, at least for the time I've played so far. So anyone interested to take a peak around without doing so might want to take the opportunity now. I'm not sure how long not having a wallet will be a viable option.
