The Siege Of O-EIMK Effectively Ended Yesterday

“For us, this is a war of extermination. This is a war to the death. We are aiming for the removal of Mittani and The Imperium from Eve Online. [...] We are here to purge them.”

Vily, Polygon published on 15 September 2020

In perhaps the greatest military reversal of fortunes in the past 15 years, players in EVE Online witnessed the end of PAPI's 13-month offensive against The Imperium yesterday. After taking Fountain, Querious, Period Basis, and 78 of the 85 conquerable systems within Delve over the previous 13 months, PAPI conducted one final assault on the O-EIMK constellation in Delve. One of, if not the instigator, of the war, Test Alliance Please Ignore, used the battle to begin unanchoring their citadels and begin its withdrawal from the region of Delve.

Vince Draken's announcement

The of PanFam (Pandemic Horde, Pandemic Legion, and Northern Coalition.) leadership began telling their pilots they were withdrawing from Delve. First the leader of Pandemic Horde, Gobbins (see below), followed by Northern Coalition.'s Vince Draken (see above).

Next came progodlegend from TEST. The group was fleeing to the Dronelands on the other side of the cluster.

Finally, Dunk Dinkle from Brave Collective addressed the players of the Legacy Coalition alliance.

PAPI is visibly demoralized and retreating after its failure to break into the O-EIMK constellation after four months of effort. The victorious Imperium forces will probably emerge from their fortress to harry the PAPI evacuation effort.

While the PAPI forces have declared the war over, the Imperium will have something to say about whether peace breaks out in New Eden. As an outsider looking at the situation, even if leadership wants a break, the various special interest groups within the Imperium will independently harass TEST as it moves from Delve and Catch to its new home in the Dronelands. The Imperium will also spend a month or more clearing out the remaining PAPI assets from Delve and the other regions it chooses to reoccupy. So the fighting will continue for awhile yet.
